Gary W. Bryson, age 77, an educator for over 40 years, died Thursday, January 7, 2020. He was the beloved husband for 54 years of Helen F. (Fiedorowicz) Bryson and a son of the late William and Anna (Kosacz) Bryson.
Gary received his undergraduate degree in education at RI College and his masters in education at the University of Rhode Island. He had worked as an elementary school teacher with the South Kingstown School Department and taught at Hazard Elementary School and Wakefield Elementary School. He served with the RI National Guard for six years. Gary loved being out in nature and was a charter member of Narragansett Chapter of Ducks Unlimited and the Narragansett Bow Hunters. As an educator, he loved to pass on his knowledge to his children and grandchildren. He looked forward to opening day of trout season as well as hunting and lobstering.
He leaves his two sons, Gary D. Bryson, and Eric W. Bryson and his wife, Filipa. His five beloved grandchildren, Sarah, Anna, William, Margaret, and Maria Bryson, and his brother, Thomas Bryson.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, January 11, 2021 at 10 am in St. Bernard Church, 275 Tower Hill Rd., North Kingstown. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Community Cancer Center at South County Health, 100 Kenyon Ave, Wakefield, RI 02879, will be appreciated.
