Marion Ferreira Obituary

Marion Ferreira, 96, of Jamestown, formerly of East Providence, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of the late Gertrude (Perry) Ferreira for 70 years. Born in Seekonk, Mass., he was a son of the late Manuel and Maria (Silva) Ferreira.

Mr. Ferreira worked as a wire inspector for Okinite Co. for 38 years before retiring. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed playing horseshoes.

Mr. Ferreira is survived by three children, Trudy Peck and her late husband Thomas of Coventry, Dennis Ferreira (Debra) of Wakefield, and Beverly Dourado (John) of Jamestown; nine grandchildren, Thomas Peck Jr., Peter Peck, Paula Clifford, Rebecca Chace, Tammy Wooldridge, Robert Ferreira Jr., Deborah Ferreira, Colleen Larosee, John Dourado III and David Dourado; and 14 great-grandchildren, Christopher, Kayla, Brandon, Ryan, Kayley, Lydia, Robbie, Abigail, Tessa, Brenden, Sophia, Colby, Vivian and Avaleen; two great-great-grandchildren, Jayceyn and Cheyne. He was the father of the late Robert “Bobby” Ferreira and brother of the late Mary Axile, Antone Ferreira, Manuel Ferreira, Margaret Sousa, Jesse Cabral, Rose Ferreira, Joseph Ferreira, Anna Perry, Emily Costello, Hazel Greene and Gus Ferreira.

His funeral will be Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 9 am from the FAGAN-QUINN Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Rd., North Kingstown with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Bernard Church, 275 Tower Hill Rd., North Kingstown. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Visiting hours, Friday 4-8 pm.
